Recommended Reading
Words matter in God’s economy of grace. God was gracious to reveal Himself to us in written words and He calls us to respond to Him with corresponding words of profession, praise, lament, and prayer.
For this reason, we believe in good reading. We read with the expectation that we will learn from others, even when we disagree with their main point. We read when a text is dense and difficult, for in it we learn perseverance. We read that which seems trite and obvious, asking how others might object. We read carefully. We read charitably. Most importantly, we read to know God and to enjoy Him more and more.
